Despite the challenges of wartime, work on the restoration and operational maintenance and repair of key public roads continues. This is crucial for ensuring defense logistics, humanitarian transportation, emergency services operations, and the resilience of the Ukrainian economy. This information is reported by the Ministry of Community and Territory Development.
In most regions, the method of laying “patches” is being used, which allows for rapid and effective elimination of significant pavement defects and improvement of travel conditions.
Repair works are being carried out on key highways, including M-06 Kyiv – Chop, M-19 Domanovo – Kovel – Chernivtsi – Ternebliche, M-30 Stryi – Uman – Dnipro – Izvaryne, and other routes.

In the Zhytomyr region – major asphalt paving works on the Berdychiv bypass. The main restoration works on the pavement of the M-21 Vystupovychi – Zhytomyr – Mohyliv-Podilskyi road section between the settlements of Osykove and Khazhyn are in the final stage. This is a bypass route around the main road through the city of Berdychiv, allowing drivers to avoid traffic jams. The pavement has been completely replaced and reinforced over 13 kilometers of the highway; work continues on strengthening the shoulders, laying asphalt concrete on ramps and acceleration/deceleration lanes, installing fences, and applying road markings.
In the Kharkiv region, since the beginning of the year, over 310 thousand sq.m of pavement have been repaired on the M-03 Kyiv – Kharkiv – Dovzhanskyi road. This road is the main transport artery of the region, connecting its western and eastern parts, with traffic intensity on some sections exceeding 25 thousand vehicles per day.
In the Sumy region, repairs on the H-07 Sumy – Kyiv roads have been completed on individual sections with a total length of about 14 km, H-12 Sumy – Poltava – over 13 km of pavement, R-60 Krolevets – Konotop – Romny – Pyriatyn on individual sections with a total length of 7 km, and R-61 Batur.
In the Ivano-Frankivsk region, current repairs using continuous patching have been completed on several large sections. Specifically, on the H-09 Mukacheve – Lviv road: the Ivano-Frankivsk bypass, Kalush Highway, Poplavky – Halych. On the H-10 Stryi – Mamalyha road, sections in the city of Dolyna and in the town of Zabolotiv have been repaired with large patches.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, works have been completed on the R-51 Merefa – Lozova – Pavlohrad road on a section exceeding 35 km in length (km 131+277 – km 166+377), restoring over 152 thousand sq. m of pavement.
Earlier it was reported that the Government will allocate over 3 billion hryvnias for the restoration of housing and infrastructure in Vyshneve after the Russian attack.
